Stokes was born on 4 June 1991 in Christchurch, New Zealand, the son of rugby league player and coach Gerard Stokes, known as ‘Ged Stokes’, to an English mother. 12-year-old Ben came to Northwest England after Ged, Ben’s Father, became Head Coach at Workington Rugby League Club. It was Ben’s passion for cricket and rugby that helped him settle into the Cumbrian way of life.
Cockermouth Cricket Club received help from Ben’s rapidly flourishing talent, helping them to land the North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League in 2006.
He won the North Lancashire and Cumbria Cricket League Premier Division title with the club in 2006 as a 15-year-old. His parents then moved back to New Zealand to live again in Christchurch Ged Stokes died in New Zealand on 8 December 2020 due to Brain cancer.

Domestic Journey Of Ben stokes

In September 2007, 16-year-old Ben took 4 wickets for 19 runs in his Second XI debut.

In May 2009, Ben made his A-list debut against Surrey, taking the trademark wicket of Mark Ram Prakash. Rapid growth catapulted Ben to the international stage. He made his under-19 Test debut in July 2009. In October, he made his ODI debut alongside future England stars Joe Root and Jos Buttler. Four months later, at the Under-19 World Cup, Ben scored his first century in a one-day international. In March 2010, Ben made his first-class debut in a pre-season match against MCC in Abu Dhabi. On his return, Ben was selected for County Durham’s first league game of the 2010 campaign. By May, he had marked his first century.

Ben International Debut:

Ben’s career continued its upward trajectory. Between August and September 2011, he made his ODI and IT20 debut.

After 2012 appeared on the local circuit, Ben returned to the England white ball team in 2013. His 5-61 in the fifth ODI against Australia paved the way for Test cricket.

Ben took advantage of his testing opportunities during the 2013-2014 tour. The Dark Dog’s status to a 5-0 defeat in Australia, and Ben’s performance made the trip feel a little more difficult. His third Test 120 and 6-99 in the fifth over signaled things to come. In 2015 Ben returned to the Test team for the West Indies tour in April.

A month later he scored ninety-two in the first innings against New Zealand at Lord’s Ben. For the second time, he scored the second-fastest century for an England player to reach 100 in just 85 balls.

Ashes 2015:

At the beginning of summer, the Australians entered the 2015 Ashes series. After their defeat in 2013-14, England bounced back to regain the Ashes. Ben’s 6-36 in the fourth Test helped England take an unassailable 3-1 series. During the 2015-2016 tour of South Africa, Ben re-entered the record books. At Newlands, Ben scored the fastest double century in Test cricket, when the South African bowlers scored 258 runs.

After South Africa, Ben went to India again for the ICC T20 World Cup. England reached the final and cricket showed its brutal side overnight in Kolkata. West Indies need nineteen runs from the last over to win the T20 World Cup Braithwaite hit a six. From the last team, West Indies are the world champions. After the nightmare of Kolkata, Ben freed himself and fought back.

His first ODI century came against Bangladesh in October 2016, and he was a man of the series in a 2-1 win.

February 2017 new era for English Test cricket. Joe Root as captain and Ben as Voice captain.

Ben continued to score. After his Test century in the series against South Africa, he scored another one hundred against the West Indies. But he took wickets in the third Test at Lord’s, returning his best Test figures of 6-22 against the West Indies.

In World cup 2019 Ben stoke’s performance was excellent. In World Cup final match Ben led the team to a remarkable Won over New Zealand and the first world cup win for England.

The 2019 Ashes series, Stokes played a crucial role in England’s eventual 2–2 draw in the 2019 Ashes series (though thus allowing Australia to keep the culture). In the third Test at Headingley, England looked set for defeat after being bowled out for 67 in their first innings. Stokes managed to end Australia’s lead overnight, scoring 11 fours and 8 sixes to seal the victory with an unbeaten 135* in pursuit of a record 359. This inning was Remember in Cricket History.

In April 2022 Ben stokes was named the captain of the England test team. in the 2022 t20 world cup Ben stokes’ performance in the first 3 matches was not good but his performance in the Final was excellent against Pakistan and led the team to Won the T20 World cup Twice.
