Big Bash League: Sydney Thunder all out for just 15

In a match of the ongoing Big Bash League in Australia, Sydney Thunders won a world record in T20 cricket which this team never wanted to achieve.

Sydney Thunder is out for fifteen runs in the Australian T20 League Big Bash match. Sydney Thunder scored 15 runs in 5.5 overs and all their players were out.

In the match played at the Showground Stadium in Sydney on Friday, the Adelaide Strikers won the toss and batted. Adelaide first to score 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted overs. Chasing the target of 140 runs set by the Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Thunder was bowled out for just 15 runs in 5.5 overs. Brendan Doggett scored the most 4 runs for Sydney Thunder while Riley Russo scored 3 and Alex Rose scored 2. Sydney Thunder’s total score also included two wide balls and a leg-bye extra run.  For Adelaide Strikers, Henry Thornton got 5, Wes Agar got 4 and Matthew Short got one out.

Five players of Sydney thunders, who got out on the lowest score of the match, got out for zero.

The lowest score in T20 history:

Earlier, this record was held by Turkey, which scored only 21 runs in a T20 match against the Czech Republic in 2019.

 

Cricinfo also expressed surprise when the entire team was out on score and said, “What just happened in the BBL?” The entire innings of Sydney Thunder was a guest of only 35 balls.

 

On being dismissed for 15, Sydney Thunders took to the social networking site Twitter to express their disappointment. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee said about this, “I have no words, I have never seen such a performance, if you think about it, it’s horrible.”

After Sydney Thunder was bowled out for 15, interesting comments are being seen on Twitter.

“I wonder what else 2022 will bring,” says Nikhil.

Himanshu Pareek tweeted mocking the Indian Premier League (IPL) team RCB and said that ‘RCB fans will be happy today broke their record of 48, Sydney on 15 runs. Out, the team had players like Alex Hales, Rilee Russouw, and Daniel Sams.’

“Sydney Thunder’s new membership hotline number is 0411030200,” jokes Daniel Charney while giving the team’s individual score.

Pantha Burman writes that the whole team was out by scoring 15 runs at this level. It’s embarrassing. I don’t understand whether the Sydney Thunder team will be able to come out of this shock or not.
