The PSL draft of players for the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League was in Karachi in which six teams selected 61 domestic and foreign players.
More than 500 foreign players and more than 450 Pakistani players were included in the players’ draft. Platinum Foreign Players include Aaron Finch, Matthew Wade, Shakib Al Hasan, Alex Hales, David Willey, Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, Tymal Mills, Rassie Van Der Dussen, Raja Paksa, Dasun Shanaka, Hasaranga, Kieron Pollard, Evin Lewis, Adil Rashid, the names were Reece Topley, Martin Guptill, Jimmy Neesham, Tabraiz Shamsi and Colin Ingram.
Ahmed Shahzad, Abid Ali, Ahsan Ali, Anwar Ali, Fawad Alam, Sohail Tanveer, Musa Khan, Muhammad Irfan, Usman Qadir, and Zafar Gohar were included in the gold category.
In the first pick of the PSL draft, Lahore Qalandars took Fakhar Zaman in the platinum category while Quetta Gladiators bought Sri Lanka’s star T20 player Wanindu Hasaranga in the platinum category.
Multan Sultans wanted to take Naseem Shah in the platinum category, but Quetta Gladiators refused to give him Multan Sultans took David Miller of South Africa.
Karachi Kings made up for the lack of a wicketkeeper by adding Australia’s Matthew Wade while Islamabad United added star English player Alex Hales to their team in the first pick.
Peshawar Zalmi has bagged Sri Lankan batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the platinum category and West Indian player Rowman Powell in the second platinum category. In the second platinum category, Karachi Kings have added Imran Tahir of South Africa and Multan Sultans have added Josh Little of Ireland to their respective teams. Islamabad United has made Afghanistan’s Rahman Ullah a part of the squad in the second platinum category pick.
What was the pick of the teams in the diamond category?
In the first pick of PSL Draft diamond category, Islamabad United has drafted Afghanistan’s Fazal Haq Farooqi into the team.
Peshawar Zalmi also picked Afghan player Mujeeb Ur Rehman in the Diamond One category, while defending champions Lahore Qalandars picked all-rounder Hussain Talat using a wild card in the Diamond Pick.
Quetta Gladiators have picked West Indian player Odean Smith in the Diamond One pick. Karachi Kings picks English batsman James Vince into the team in the first pick of the diamond category, while in the second pick of the diamond category, England’s James Fuller include in the team.
Which players did the teams take in the gold category?
In the first pick of the gold category of PSL, Peshawar Zalmi bought Pakistani players, Danish Aziz and Arshad Iqbal, Quetta Gladiators bought Pakistani batsman Ehsan Ali, Lahore Qalandars bought Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza.
Lahore Qalandars have taken English player Liam Dawson in the second pick of the gold category, Multan Sultans have taken Akeal Hosein of West Indies in the first pick of the gold category, while Karachi Kings have taken Australia’s fast bowler Andrew Tye.

Karachi Kings got Irfan Khan Niazi, Islamabad United got Zeeshan Zameer, Hasan Nawaz, and Peshawar Zalmi got Sufyan Moqim and Haseeb Ullah Khan in their pick in the emerging category.
Quetta Gladiators added Abdul Wahid Bengalzai and Amil Khan while Lahore Qalandars added Shawaiz Irfan to the team.
In the supplementary round, Peshawar Zalmi bought New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham, Multan Sultans bought English spinners, Adil Rashid, and Arafat Minhas, while Quetta Gladiators bought Martin Guptill.
