Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of T20 World Cup Due To a Back Stress Fracture. Team India is in serious trouble as pace leader Jasprit Bumrah will miss the T20 World Cup due to a back stress fracture.

India’s T20 World Cup campaign faces a setback. Jasprit Bumrah, the spearhead of the team, is unable to play due to a back injury. Bumrah traveled to Bengaluru Wednesday to have his back checked. The results are still awaited. After playing the second and third T20I against Australia on September 23rd and 25, respectively, he returned figures of 1 for 23, and 0 for 50. He missed the match against South Africa on September 28 due to back pain.

However, the scans done by the medical team show that the star pacer will be out for at least four-six more months. The selection committee will make the final call on Mohammad Shami and Deepak Chahar to the India team for the T20 World Cup in Bumrah’s absence.

Bumrah did not travel to Trivandrum to attend the T20I match between India & South Africa, which India Team won  by eight wickets  on Wednesday (September 28).

Bumrah was previously unable to participate in the Asia Cup 2022 because of a back injury. To recover, he spent about a month at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He was unable to play the first T20I at Mohali, but he played in the rest of the matches and India won the series 2-1.

Senior players have enough rest to keep up with their workload. It is even more remarkable that Bumrah played five Tests, five ODIs, and as many T20Is for 2022 as any IPL game for Mumbai Indians. Although back stress fractures don’t require surgery, they take a long time to heal.

Rohit Sharma on Press Conference:

Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, said that it was great to see Bumrah playing at “full throttle” after the victory against Australia in Nagpur. Sharma stated that it can be difficult to come back after being out for a while due to a back injury. We just need to give more time to Bumrah. I won’t go into detail about his bowling, but it was nice to see him at the park. Slowly and steadily, he is returning to his rhythm. That’s what he has been talking about when he’s bowling in the nets. It was great to see him bowling at full speed on the park.

It is possible that Bumrah has suffered a stress fracture in his back. This will be Bumrah’s second such injury within the last three years. In September 2019, the fast bowler as having a “minor strain fracture in his lower back”. This injury left him disabled for about three months.

Michael Holding said on Jasprit Bumrah Injury:

Bumrah’s slinging action puts pressure on his back when he loads. Michael Holding, a former pace bowling champion in West Indies, had deemed that Bumrah was a prime candidate for back injuries.

An earlier injury caused Ravindra Jadeja, India’s all-rounder star, to be unable to play in the T20 World Cup 2022. Jadeja sustained the injury in the middle of the Asia Cup 2022 in UAE.

India’s death bowling has been a problem, as Rohit Sharma has admitted. Due to poor performances, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been a victim of pressure and the pressure will fall on Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh in Bumrah Absence.

India T20 World Cup Squad:
