England Men name Test squad for the tour of Pakistan a 15-strong squad for the three-match Test tour of Pakistan starting in December.
Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks is called as much as the Test squad for the first time after a remarkable summer time saw him play an essential component with off-spin and bat, assisting Surrey win the LV= Insurance County Championship Division One title.

Liam Livingstone is going to be making his Test debut, having been called up to the England squad for the very first time since the tour of New Zealand in the spring of 2018.

Keaton Jennings is back in the Test squad for the very first time since February 2019 following a great summer time with red rose county, where he was top run scorer in Division One of the LV = Insurance county Championship, scoring 1233 runs at an average of 72.52 with 5 centuries.

Nottinghamshire batter Ben Duckett might be in line to go back to evaluate cricket for the very first time since November 2016 after impressing in the County Championship and the England Lions throughout the summer time.

Fast bowler Mark Wood, who’s presently playing in Australia for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, comes back to the squad for the very first time since March, along with Surrey – quick Jamie Overton is included after his Test debut against New Zealand at Headingley earlier in the summer months.

Stuart Broad, a Nottinghamshire seam bowler not selected, as his partner is due to give birth to their first child at the end of November.

Regarding the selected squad, ECB Managing Director for England Men’s Cricket, Rob Key, said:

“We are looking forward to touring Pakistan as a Test team for the first time since 2005”. It is going to be a historic tour as well as a compelling series against a great side.

“The selectors have selected a squad for the conditions we are able to expect in Pakistan,” he added. There’s a strong mixture of youth and players and experience who will have the ability to adapt well to the pitches we will be facing over the three match series.

“I wish the players every success, especially those new to the squad and those returning after a period of time away.”
